Anastasia Pistofidou holds a Master’s in Advanced Architecture (IaaC) and is a doctoral student at Universitat de Vic and member of Elisava Research.
She co-founded Fab Textiles in 2013, a research lab integrating artesanal techniques with emerging technologies to bridge soft fabrication, textiles, and materials and promoting the development of Textile and Material Labs worldwide.
In 2016, she co-founded Fabricademy, a lab-based distributed educational program at the intersection of textiles, digital fabrication, and biology.
From 2011 to 2024, she was a key team member at IAAC Fab Lab Barcelona, serving as a digital fabrication tutor, senior manager, coordinator, and founder of the material & textiles research area.
Awarded the STARTS Prize in 2021 for "Remix el Barrio," she advances gender equity through inclusive textile and fashion education via shemakes.eu, transitionsproject.eu, and FashionKIC. She also curates the annual exhibitions at Fab Lab Conferences since 2012.
