Curauma Makerspace, founded in 2023 with the support of the Science Up project, is a digital fabrication and prototyping lab located at the Curauma campus of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV).

Its main goal is to provide a practical and interdisciplinary learning environment for students, academics, and researchers. The makerspace aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration among different disciplines.

In terms of capabilities, it features a variety of digital fabrication tools that allow work with different materials: Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) and resin (SLA) 3D printers, a laser cutter and engraver, and a CNC router for working with rapid prototypes. Additionally, it has an electronics and prototyping area equipped for developing circuits and integrated systems, along with a collaborative workspace to facilitate interaction among projects coexisting in the lab.

Beyond its role as a creative space, Curauma Makerspace actively promotes the maker culture through workshops, events, and mentorship, integrating into the innovation ecosystem of the PUCV and the region.
