Juan Felipe Enriquez Fiallo

Bio

Creative Director of REINO Studios, a recognized Latin American company involved in design, entrepreneurship and social innovation. With over ten years of experience in Industrial Design, Artisanal Handicraft Design, Strategic Design, Interior Architecture and Social Design, I generate links among authentic crafts, natural fibers, local identity, and contemporary design.

I have spoken at TEDxCuenca, Open Mexican Design (AMD), Udesign Paradigm at the University of Monterrey (Mexico), and Google’s Start Up Grind, among other conferences. I have served as Workshop Director at the Technological Institute of Monterrey (TEC, Mexico), ECODAL Latin American Conference on Ecodesign (Chile), and at workshops in more than 40 universities and communities in Ecuador and Latin America.

I recently designed the “Tren Crucero” luxury train in Ecuador connecting the Andes Mountains to the coast, which was awarded as the Best Luxury Train in South America by the World Travel Awards for the past three years. I designed of the first Ecuador Railroad’s Craft Collection, made of more than 350 contemporary design pieces, co-created with more than 22 Andean communities. Through empowerment and social innovation, I work to define a new identity of Ecuadorian design.

I was the co-founder of I Love Ecuador, a project of economic and productive reactivation for the disaster areas caused by the earthquake that affected Ecuador in 2016. This project was awarded the same year by the Pan American Biennial of Architecture within the category of Good Citizen Practices.

With more than 100 projects under my direction, I strive to stand out as one of the most representative industrial designers of the last decade in Ecuador and the region, working for brands such as Foundation Telefonica, Toyota, Puma, Oakley, Master Card, BlackBerry and the United Nations, among others.

Currently, I have been selected by the "City of Knowledge YACHAY" as the director for the entrepreneurships and Innovation. I am an honorary member of the Latin American Congress of Ecodesign ECODAL in Chile and of the Sectorial Table of Bamboo in Ecuador.
