Bio

Designer, educator and researcher. Master and PhD in Design, with Doctoral Exchange Program in Portugal. More than 30 years of academic and professional experience in the design area, having worked mainly in product development (automotive, home appliances, electronics, packaging, furniture, toys, digital and graphics). As a teacher, has been working in undergraduate and graduate programs in design and engineering, coordinating the Design Course at Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia (IMT) for 13 years. Currently is responsible for design management at the 1961 Design Studio by the Research Center (IMT); is member at the research groups: LabDesign (IMT), Education in Engineering, Design and Administration (IMT) and Inovasign (UFSM); is part of the Mobility Design Core of SAE Brasil (Society of Automotive Engineers) and is part of the “Red de Investigadores en Diseño” (Universidad de Palermo, Argentina). Author of 2 books and several scientific papers and interested in the following research areas: Design Methodology, Design Research, Teaching and Learning in Design and Engineering, Inter and Transdisciplinarity, Active Learning Methodologies, Design Thinking, Education and Maker Culture , Digital Fabrication, Fab Labs, Mobility Design, among others. Has participated in the creation and implementation of Fab Lab Mauá and Fab Lab Mobile Mauá.
