Kelly runs the US Special Operations Command Digital Fabrication Lab.

Previously, she has worked as Director of Engineering Design at TIES and as a consultant to the Fab Foundation. She has served as the lead developer and lead instructor for the Fab Foundation's MENTOR2 program, a design and engineering course developed in conjunction with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. Before her position with TIES and the Fab Foundation, she directed Fab Lab Baltimore, a public-access workshop that is part of the international Fab Lab network managed by MIT's CBA. At the lab, she developed classes and workshops in digital fabrication and design.

During this time, she also worked for the Johns Hopkins University Digital Media Center, where she developed and taught a workshop series covering topics ranging from press-fit construction systems to shape-memory polymers.

She has also worked for Cornell University's Department of Architecture as a Design and Construction Specialist for the US Department of Energy Solar Decathlon Competition, as well as several architecture firms.

She holds a M. Arch from Cornell University, and a BS in Architecture from SUNY Buffalo.
